Your Honda Brake Rotors

The Brake Rotor is a metal disc-shaped component of the wheel that force is applied to stop your vehicle. Brake pads contact the brake rotor with extreme force to generate the stopping power that you need to stay safe while driving your vehicle. The constant force between the brake pad and rotor create intense friction and heat to eventually start wearing down your brake rotors. Over time, the friction and heat can cause the rotor to show signs of warping and/or cracking. Since the brake system’s stopping power relies on a flat surface area between the brake pad and rotor, when the brake rotor is warped or cracked, your stopping power becomes compromised. One of the best ways to make sure you have factory specified stopping power is to have your brake rotors resurfaced or replaced as needed.

The Brake-Pad-Only Fix will not solve Rotor Problems

Even though Brake Pads are an important part of your Honda brake system, replacing brake pads on a bad rotor will not solve your problem. Worn out brake rotors require resurfacing service or total replacement service if they are damaged beyond repair. Brake Rotor Resurfacing will give your rotors a flat surface to give you factory specification stopping power. However, if your brake rotors are worn out beyond resurfacing, they will require Honda Brake Rotor Replacement.
